Organization for a solidary world
The Organization for One World in Solidarity (OEW) is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 with headquarters in Brixen , South Tyrol . She is primarily involved in the education sector, says the street newspaper zebra. and operates the specialist library “One World”. The OEW is an umbrella organization of a total of 43 member groups, including several clubs, groups and South Tyrolean world shops . The organization is committed to an open society, conscious consumption and sustainable international cooperation in South Tyrol. By means of school workshops, lectures and public campaigns, the OEW wants to create awareness of global conditions and show local options for action.

The OEW defines as its goal to bring the people in South Tyrol closer to topics of international solidarity , human rights as well as economic and social development. The main areas of activity are education and awareness-raising work.
The OEW educational work focuses on globalization , critical consumption / fair trade , human rights , anti-racism work and discrimination, flight and migration. The target groups are especially children and young people. The offer includes games, parties, film and multimedia presentations, seminars, lectures and workshops.
The association organizes internships abroad for young people and adults in Africa and South America .

Since 2014, the OEW organization for a world of solidarity from Brixen has been running the bilingual street newspaper zebra. out. The current edition is offered by around 60 sellers. They originally come from 17 different nations and are registered with the OEW and can be recognized by their brown ID cards. The content of the newspaper is developed by volunteers and draws attention to good news, encouraging stories, small deeds with a big impact, special people in and from South Tyrol. Zebra. is a member of the international network of street newspapers INSP.
