The Orientation: Catholic Sheets for ideological information was a Jesuit magazine , the 1947-2009 twice monthly by the Institute for Ideological issues in Zurich was issued.

The predecessors of the orientation were called Antimarxist Mitteilungsdienst (first editions) and Apologetic papers . According to Ludwig Kaufmann , the target audience of the orientation was “readers ... who are looking and with whom we would like to go looking for ourselves”. Major members of the editorial team were Mario von Galli and Ludwig Kaufmann (including editor-in-chief). The orientation reached its peak “in the decade after the Second Vatican Council ”. "With the erosion of milieu Catholicism and the change in the function of religion in the modern andpostmodern society lost part of its previous readership . "

All volumes of the journal were made available completely online by the Institute for Philosophical Issues .
