The Oros ( Greek Όρος , mountain ') is at 532 m the highest point on the Greek island of Aegina . The mountain is located in the south of the island and is of volcanic origin. There is a fortified settlement from the Mycenaean period on its top . Since the early 1st millennium BC The summit is the place of worship of Zeus Hellanios, whose altar and sanctuary were expanded in the Hellenistic period .
Building remains and inscriptions were found on the northern slope.
