The Oslo in October 1971 in the northern Atlantic

The Oslo (F300) was a Norwegian frigate . It was eponymous for the Oslo class .

The ship entered service on January 29, 1966.

On January 24, 1994, it ran aground at the Insel Store Marstein after a machine failure. The ship was recovered by the tug Lars on the following day. The ship sank in tow in the Korsfjord . One officer, Lieutenant Captain Torbjørn Tellefsen, was killed. At that time, the commander was Corvette Captain Christian Irgens.

The ship was later lifted.
