Osos Grises de Toluca is the well-known name for the former soccer team of the Club Deportivo del Estado de México , which was initially based in Toluca , the capital of the state of México .

history

After winning the championship of the Tercera División in the 1976/77 season, the Osos Grises rose to the then still second-rate Segunda División , in which they were represented in the following five seasons from 1977/78 to 1981/82.

Your most successful season was the 1979/80 season, when the Osos Grises were unbeaten in 19 consecutive games between the 15th and the 35th matchday. At the end of the season they reached the championship and promotion finals against Club Atletas Campesinos . After a goalless away game at the Estadio Municipal de Querétaro , the Osos Grises lost the second leg in front of their own audience 2-1, so that the Campesinos were promoted to the Primera División , while the team from Toluca remained second .

Before the 1981/82 season, the team moved to Texcoco , where they initially played for one season under their old name and completed the next three seasons in the Segunda División (1982/83 to 1984/85) under the name of their new home. The team then moved to the community of Atlacomulco and took part in the 1985/86 season under their name. In the summer of 1986 the company withdrew to Texcoco and was renamed Toros de Texcoco .
