Estadio Municipal de Querétaro is a football stadium in the Mexican city of Querétaro , the capital of the state of the same name . In the 1980/81 and 1981/82 seasons it was the venue of the Primera División when the Club Atletas Campesinos was represented in the first Mexican league.
history
The stadium opened on September 29, 1939 and has served as the home ground for a number of teams from the city of Querétaro over the years. In addition to the aforementioned Club Atletas Campesinos, these included the Club Deportivo Lobos , the Club Estudiantes , the Club Atletas Industriales as well as the Gallos Blancos de la UAQ and the Cobras Querétaro .
Atletas Campesinos played their home games in the 1980/81 and 1981/82 seasons in the Primera División in this stadium. The first division debut on September 21, 1980 was won 2-0 against Toros Neza , the last home game in the first division on May 9, 1982 was lost 1: 2 against Cruz Azul .
