Osservatorio Astronomico Geminiano Montanari

The Osservatorio Astronomico Geminiano Montanari is an observatory located in the municipality of Cavezzo in the province of Modena . The registration number at the Minor Planet Center is 107.

The observatory was built from 1975 in collaboration with the municipality of Cavezzo and went into operation in 1978. It was named after the Italian astronomer Geminiano Montanari (1633–1687).

The main instrument is a reflecting telescope in Cassegrain design with a mirror diameter of 40 cm and a focal length of 221 cm. A total of seven asteroids were discovered between 1995 and 2001 .
