Barry Dean Loudermilk (born December 22, 1963 in Riverdale , Clayton County , Georgia ) is an American politician . He has represented the state of Georgia in the US House of Representatives since 2015 .

Career

In 1987, Barry Loudermilk graduated from the US Air Force Community College . From 1984 to 1992 he served in the United States Air Force . At the end of this period, he studied at the Wayland Baptist University in Plainview ( Texas ). He finished his studies in 1992. He then worked as a private businessman. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 2001 and 2004 he was their district chairman in Bartow County . In 2000 and 2004 he supported the presidential election campaigns of George W. Bush . He was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010 ; between 2011 and 2013 he was a member of the local state senate .

In the congressional elections of 2014 Loudermilk was in the eleventh electoral district of Georgia in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC chosen, where he succeeds on January 3, 2015 Phil Gingrey took that success in the primaries of his party for the US Senate had run. Re-elected in 2016, he will also serve in the 115th Congress of the United States , which will meet on January 3, 2017 . His new legislative term runs until January 3, 2019 with the option of a further candidacy in 2018.
