James C. Terrell

James C. Terrell (born November 7, 1806 in Franklin County , Georgia , †  December 1, 1835 in Carnesville , Georgia) was an American politician . In 1835 he represented the state of Georgia in the US House of Representatives .

Career

The sources give no information about the childhood and adolescence of James Terrell. After studying law and becoming a lawyer, he began working in Carnesville in his new profession. Between 1830 and 1834 he was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives . In the state-wide held congressional elections of 1834 he was elected as a unionist for the sixth mandate from Georgia to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Roger Lawson Gamble on March 4, 1835 . Terrell could only exercise his mandate in Congress until July 8, 1835. On that day, before the constituent session of the new congress, he resigned for health reasons.

In the following months, his health deteriorated further. He died in Carnesville on December 1, 1835.
