David Scott

David Scott (* 27. June 1946 in Aynor , Horry County , South Carolina ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party . As a member of the House of Representatives since January 3, 2003, he has represented the 13th Congressional constituency of the state of Georgia . He is a member of the intra-party coalition of the Blue Dog Democrats .

biography

Scott studied at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee , where he received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 1967 . He then studied at the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania , where he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1969 . From 1974 to 1982 he was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives and was from 1982 until his election in 2002 in the 108th Congress the Georgia State Senate on.

After he has been re-elected in all subsequent congressional elections, he can still exercise his mandate today. Since he was re-elected in 2016, he is also a member of the 115th Congress of the United States , which met on January 3, 2017 . His new legislative term runs until January 3, 2019 with the option of a further candidacy in 2018. He has since served on the Agriculture Committee and the United States House Committee on Financial Services as well as a total of four sub-committees. He is also a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly .

David Scott is married and has two daughters.
