Plainview is the county capital and county seat of Hale County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in northwest Texas, on the border with the Texas Panhandle , at the junction of Interstate 27 with US Highways 87 and 70 and Highway 194, is about 85 km north of Lubbock and 125 km south of Amarillo and has one Total area of ​​35.7 km² without any significant water area.
