Cavezzo is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7007 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 23 kilometers north-northeast of Modena . The western border of the municipality forms the Secchia . The Cavezzo is part of the Unione dei comuni modenesi dell'Area Nord .

To the east of the municipality, Strada Statale 12 dell'Abetone e del Brennero runs from Modena in a northerly direction to Verona . The former Strada Statale 468 di Correggio (today: Provincial Road) from Reggio nell'Emilia continues here to Mirabello . The narrow-gauge railway (950 mm gauge) from Modena to Mirandola and Finale Emilia stopped in Cavezzo until 1964, when the line was completely closed.
