Guiglia is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 3929 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 24 kilometers south-south-east of Modena and about 31 kilometers west-south-west of Bologna at the Parco regional dei Sassi di Roccamalatina . The Panaro forms the western municipal boundary to the neighboring municipality of Marano sul Panaro . Giuglia borders the metropolitan city of Bologna in the northeast .
