The Panaro ( lat. Scultenna ) is the last right tributary of the Po in northern Italy. It runs in a north-easterly direction through the Emilia-Romagna region , from its source near the Apennine watershed, where Emilia-Romagna borders on Tuscany , to its mouth, where the Po forms the border of the region with Veneto .

Its main source, the Rio delle Tagliole , rises at Foce a Giovo on Monte Rondinaio about 12 km southwest of the highest peak of the Etruscan Apennines , Monte Cimone ( 2165  m slm ). In the vicinity of Modena it gets water from the Naviglio di Modena and is from there up to its confluence with the Po (a little west of Ferrara ) navigable. It flows through the cities of Vignola , Finale Emilia and Bondeno .
