The Osterrieth Range ( French Monts Osterrieth ) is a mountain range on the Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago . It extends northeast-southwest on the southeast coast of the island.
It was discovered during the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery . He named the mountains after Jacques “Ernest” Osterrieth (1869–1947), a sponsor of the expedition. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated the name into English in 1959.
