The Ostfriesland magazine is the only regional magazine that regularly every month for more than 20 years, East Friesland , the Oldenburg Friesland and the East Frisian Islands reported. The Ostfriesland-Magazin informs readers at home and abroad with topics all about East Friesland, reports about the historical, current and interesting facts, about the country and its people.

The Ostfriesland-Magazin was founded by Christian Basse, managing director of SKN, which still publishes the Ostfriesland Magazin today. The first edition came out in April 1984. The magazine appears twelve times a year with a (sold) circulation of around 10,500 copies. The greatest readership potential can be found in East Frisia, followed by the "Butenostfriesen", ie East Frisians living outside East Frisia, as well as in North Rhine-Westphalia , the other federal states and abroad (subscribers worldwide in 23 countries).

In addition to the Ostfriesland magazine , the editorial team at the Soltau-Kurier-Norden (SKN) publishing house produces various special editions: for example, supplements , tourism magazines and brochures, posters or company magazines that are distributed or sold nationwide.

SKN has its own Ostfriesland picture editorial team, which can fall back on around 300,000 Ostfriesland motifs as slides or digital images.

The editors of the Ostfriesland-Magazin publishes a series of calendars and books specific to Ostfriesland, including many illustrated books and editions for the renowned "Library Ostfriesland".
