Overinclusion
The term overinclusion ( German excessive inclusion ) goes back to Norman Cameron, who tried in 1939 to characterize schizophrenic thought disorders.
People with schizophrenia have a language-related thought disorder: They commit semantic category errors. They often fail to make correct assignments to a semantic category such as "fruit". Other terms such as “egg” are also assigned to the “fruit” category.
