Hogrefe test system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hogrefe Test System (HTS, up to version 4 Hogrefe TestSystem ) is a system for computer-aided psychodiagnostics .

It was published from 1992 to 2012 (Version 4) by Klaus-Dieter Hänsgen , developed by the Center for Test Development and Diagnostics at the University of Freiburg (Switzerland) as part of a third-party funded project and distributed internationally by the Hogrefe Verlag Göttingen. Since 2013, Hogrefe Verlag (from version 5) has been developing follow-up versions on its own.

application

The aim of the HTS is to integrate the implementation, evaluation and interpretation of the most important professional psychological test procedures, which are suitable for computer-aided implementation, into a uniform environment and thus to simplify the psychodiagnostic activity . On an international scale, the conventional " paper and pencil " bushings are increasingly being replaced by computer-aided processes. Cost reasons are just as responsible for this as the need to have precise results available quickly, since the evaluation of most tests is very time-consuming. The Internet also means that diagnosticians and those diagnosed no longer have to be in the same place.

The application is mainly possible in the following areas for the following questions:

  • Clinical psychodiagnostics (e.g. disorder diagnosis, therapy evaluation)
  • Aptitude diagnostics (e.g. personnel selection and evaluation)
  • Diagnostics for children and adolescents (e.g. level of development in various areas, behavioral and personality disorders)
  • Psychological counseling
  • Psychological evaluation

history

A forerunner system was developed from 1986 to 1989 under BASIC for small computers KC85 / 1 by Hänsgen at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1989 to 1994 different modules were put together according to specific questions (LEILA = performance diagnostic laboratory, CORA = computer-based rating method, KIDIS = child diagnostic system, PERSYS = personality diagnostic system). Since 1992 the term "Hogrefe TestSystem" has been used as a collective name. From 1994 they were integrated under the uniform concept of the HTS (version 2). From 1989 to the end of 1996, an MS-DOS version was developed with Pascal , which in the end used its own standardized graphic interface. Version 3 has been running under Windows since 1997, and version 4 has been available since 2006 with additional Internet tests and the use of USB sticks for mobile testing.

Up to version 4, the HTS enabled the administration of approx. 400 psychological test procedures in 10 languages.

In addition to the Vienna Test System, HTS is one of the two most popular test systems for professional psychodiagnostics in the German-speaking world . Its application requires psychodiagnostic knowledge . The DIN standard 33430 or ÖNORM D4000 for Austria applies to suitability diagnostics .

The test could be carried out on a local PC, on the Internet / intranet via a server or using a USB memory stick (portable testing). Version 4 existed in a German, English, French, Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Slovak and Czech version with corresponding procedures from these countries.

Version 4 has not been supported since the end of 2017.

Current status

For the current version 5, which is only available via an online portal, we returned to the question-specific or area-specific structure in order to better adapt the system to different application contexts (e.g. HR and clinical editions). So far, 171 procedures are available in 16 languages (as of 01/2018). Test procedures can be carried out in all common browsers, in addition to questionnaire procedures, time-critical test procedures from the performance area. New functions were implemented in the evaluation, such as target / actual comparisons of test profiles (individual profiles with ideal profiles or requirements), generation of rankings for several candidates and group analyzes.
