biography

First volume (1979–1987)

Andreas Deris began his career as a singer in his first band called Paranoid, which he founded together with his school friend Ralf Maurer. When Andreas Deris was 17 years old, Paranoid renamed itself Nameless.

Deris joined the band Dragon in the mid-80s, consisting of the brothers Bruno and Oscar Di Blasio as well as Bernd and Stefan Lüddemann (former Hot Legs members). They played many concerts in the Karlsruhe region, went to Edo Zanki's studio in Karlsdorf and finally to the Arco Studio in Munich to record the first demo with producer Tony Monn. The following songs were included: I Was Made to be With You , Call Me Up , I Hear the Angels Singing , Ballade of Glory and Rock Your Body Down . Bodo Schopf (formerly Michael Schenker Group ) helped out on drums during the recording . Then it got quiet around the band. In 1986 Deris finished his military service, the band strengthened themselves with bassist Daniel DeNiro and school friend Ralf Maurer on drums and called themselves KYMERA . Several showcase appearances followed in Hamburg, KYMERA received a publishing contract with Francis, Day & Hunter Publishing Hamburg and recorded the next demo in the Katapult recording studio in Karlsruhe with the songs Hello USA , Hot Looking Romeo , Send Me a Letter and newly arranged versions from I Was Made to be With You , Call Me Up and Woman . After a few more concerts, drummer Ralf Maurer left the band to concentrate on his studies. The young talented Kosta Zafiriou replaced him. A little later, he and Deris finally founded Pink Cream 69 .

Pink Cream 69 (1987-1993)

In 1987 Andi Deris founded the band Pink Cream 69 together with Kosta Zafiriou and the guitarist Alfred Koffler , in which the bassist Dennis Ward was added. It was here that Deris celebrated his first successes , especially after the Ludwigsburg rock factory had won the young talent competition . Deris left the "Pinkies" after disputes within the band in 1993 and joined Helloween from Hamburg , who had just separated from their singer Michael Kiske .

By the time Deris joined Helloween, the band was in a difficult position. Kiske was considered extremely talented and Deris was viewed by some fans as a foreign body within the band, although the last two Helloween albums ( Pink Bubbles Go Ape and Chameleon ) were mostly considered to be of below average quality. With Master of the Rings sang Deris in response to the skepticism toward him a quite positive rezipiertes Helloween album a year 1994th The follow-up work The Time of the Oath from 1996 - a concept work about Nostradamus - was the definitive comeback for Helloween and established the band again as the great in Power Metal . Despite several line-up changes after The Dark Ride (2000), the band has been extremely successful to this day. Many singles are compositions by Deris.

In the late 1990s, Andi Deris released two solo albums. Metal, rock songs and ballads can be heard on Come In from the Rain and Done by Mirrors .
