Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 is the third album by the German band Helloween . The album is considered to be groundbreaking for the power metal style . It also contains clear elements of heavy and speed metal . The album was released in 1988 by Noise International and is the continuation of the previous album Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 . For Helloween it was the last album with Kai Hansen , who then founded Gamma Ray .

The intro invitation and the 13-minute title track create a continuity with the previous album Keeper Of The Seven Keys . Although the album was apparently intended as a concept album , it lacks a clear theme and a connection between the individual pieces, which are not lyrically based on one another.

The album reached number 5 in Germany and was also able to surpass the sales figures of its predecessor. The album reached gold status in Germany as the only one of the band to date . In 1990 the album was stripped of this status after an audit found that the record company had added the export copies sold to domestic sales. In the official IFPI database , however, it is recorded as a gold record. Nevertheless, the album is one of the most successful German power metal albums. The single Dr. Stein also entered the German top ten.

The theme was continued in 2005 with the album Keeper of the Seven Keys - The Legacy .
