Michael Weikath

Michael Ingo Joachim Weikath called Weiki (* 7. August 1962 in Hamburg ) is a German power and speed metal - musician and co-founder of the band " Helloween ".

Live and act

Weikath made after the High School in 1982 at the St. Ansgar School 's community service from the "Mobile Social Forum Hamburg". Since it was already clear at this point that he would be a full-time musician , he did not do any training or study.

The first band Weikath played in was called "Powerfool" and was founded in 1978. From 1981/1982 he was active in other groups, including in the "SAS band" of his school.

Along with Kai Hansen , Markus Grosskopf and Ingo Schwichtenberg, he is one of the founders of the German power and speed metal band "Helloween". Besides Markus Grosskopf, he is currently the only remaining member of the first line-up with whom he previously played in the band "Blast Furnace".

In 1997 he played guitar in Andi Deris ' solo project "Come in from the Rain". He was a guest in 2003 on the album Ritualive by " Shaman " and on The Legend and the Truth by " Dezperadoz ".

Weikath lives in Tenerife .

Musical style

Weikath names Deep Purple , Scorpions , Van Halen , Led Zeppelin , Sex Pistols and Wishbone Ash as his musical influences . He mainly plays guitars made by the Gibson company .
