Pink Bubbles Go Ape is the fourth studio album by the band Helloween .
History of origin
After problems with the band's management and internal disputes, Kai Hansen left Helloween and founded Gamma Ray . Roland Grapow joined him for him. The album was produced by Chris Tsangarides, known for works like Painkiller by Judas Priest and Thunder And Lightning by Thin Lizzy .
Shortly after the album was finished, the band fell out with the record company Noise International. Helloween signed a contract with EMI and the Iron Maiden management Sanctuary Music. Noise International interpreted the process as a breach of contract because an album was still outstanding. An injunction prevented the album from being released in Germany. During the time of the trial, Noise released the best-of album The Best, the Rest, the Rare . Pink Bubbles ... was only available as an import for a long time. It only appeared in Germany in 1992.
meaning
The band began to experiment on this album, neglecting the typical Power Metal elements. Together with the successor Chameleon , it is described by fans and critics as a weak and atypical album. Helloween suffered a sharp drop in sales and concert goers.
