biography

Stefan Schwarzmann started playing the drums at the age of 14. The autodidact's role models were drummers like Clive Burr from Iron Maiden and Cozy Powell . His first school band was called Born Loosers . First he played in Erlangen with regional groups such as Cronos Titan , Canberra and Die Suicides . For Die Suicides he sat on the drums again and again over the next 20 years.

In 1987 he switched to the international music scene with an engagement with Running Wild. In addition to the live album Ready For Boarding , he can be heard on the 1988 studio album Port Royal before he switched to UDO and recorded the albums Mean Machine , Faceless World and Timebomb there . 1992 followed another guest appearance with Running Wild, with whom he recorded the album Pile of Skulls . After the tour that followed, singer and guitarist Rolf Kasparek dismissed the entire band, whereupon the fired musicians called X-Wild into being. Schwarzmann is on the albums So What! and Monster Effect before joining Accept in 1995. There he can be heard on two tracks on the studio album Death Row and on the live CD All Areas - Worldwide . After the band left, he moved back to UDO and was involved in the albums Solid and No Limits .

In 1994 the drummer discovered his interest in multicultural rhythms and devoted himself increasingly to hand and effects percussion. Further stations in his career are Duo Mystica, Willi Dentler and Friends, Pookah and Hummerstein 94 . In the late 1990s he could also be heard in the Ensemble Dirrekt and with Tilo Heider in the multi-percussion performance project Duo Toccata .

In 2003 he took the Skew Siskin dial to Album Of The Year on before returning to the metal scene with joining Helloween. Schwarzmann toured with the band and recorded a few B-sides before leaving Helloween before the recordings of Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy .

In 2005 he was part of the Accept Reunion, who rocked together for some appearances at festivals (including RockHard and Wacken), as well as indoor concerts and a tour through Japan. He then played the album Hellraiser with the Swiss hard rock band Krokus and toured extensively with the band. After the 2007 tour with Krokus, Stefan Schwarzmann gave another concert as the drummer of SUICIDES. He has now moved his main residence to Switzerland. At the beginning of 2008 the current crocus formation disintegrated because singer Storace agreed to a reunion after all.

Accept hit the headlines in the summer of 2009 with Stefan Schwarzmann. Blood of the Nations was released in May 2010 . The album advanced to number 4 in the German album charts. A huge success for the band. As a result, Stefan completed an extensive world tour with Accept in front of the most sold-out houses. The highlights of this tour were certainly the appearances as support for AC / DC in front of 80,000 spectators in Hanover and Stuttgart. The album Stalingrad was released in 2012, followed by the current long player Blind Rage in 2014 at number 1 in the German album charts.
