Herman Frank (* 1959 in Erlangen ) is a German hard rock - and heavy metal - guitarist and music producer .

Career

Frank first gained fame as a member of the heavy metal band Accept , where he replaced the temporary guitarist Jan Koemmet in 1982 . Frank joined the band shortly before the release of Restless and Wild , but left after the follow-up album Balls to the Wall . In 1983 he also founded his own band called Hazzard , which released a self-titled album that same year. Probably because of the lack of success here, Frank joined Sinner for some time in 1985 , where he was the second guitarist on the album Touch of Sin .

His breakthrough came with the band Victory . From 1986 onwards, Frank recorded a total of five studio and two live albums with the Hanoverians and played a key role in shaping the band's sound until they broke up in 1993. But he was not involved in the reunion three years later. Instead he tried his own band again with Moon'Doc and released three albums under this name from 1995 to 2000. In 2002 Victory reformed again and now Frank was back as a driving force. Together with Tommy Newton he wrote and produced the albums Instinct (2003), Fuel to the Fire (2006) and Don't Talk Science (2011) before the band finally decided to break up. However, this did not last long, because in 2013 they reunited.

In the meantime, Frank started working for Accept again. He participated in both the reunification in the summer of 2005 and the reboot of the band with Mark Tornillo and recorded the albums Blood of the Nations (2010) and Stalingrad (2012) with her. In 2009 his first pure solo album called Loyal to None was released , which was recorded with Jioti Parcharidis ( Victory ) as singer, Peter Pichl ( Running Wild ) on bass and Stefan Schwarzmann (Accept) on drums. For the successor Right in the Guts (2012) he engaged the singer Rick Altzi ( At Vance ), the guitarist Christos Mamalitsidis (Nikki Puppet) and the drummer Michael Wolpers ( Treibhaus ) in addition to Pichl .

Frank has also worked as a producer and mixer in his career, for example for Jamie Clarke's Perfect, Crown of Creation , The Empty Promises , The Michels, Mind Odyssey , Justire, Holy Mother, Saxon , Messiah's Kiss , Missing Link , Paranoize, Silent Decay , Hemlock, Tank Buster Jack, Franky, Inquiring Blood , Nikki Puppet, Hate Squad , Magistarium, Rose Tattoo , Molly Hatchet and Poison Sun.
