Sinner is a German heavy metal - band , named after its founder, singer and bass player, the German heavy metal musician and producer Mat Sinner (including Primal Fear - Rock Meets Classic ).

history

Founded in Baden-Württemberg , Sinner released their first LP Wild'n'Evil in 1982. The successor Fast Decision was released a year later by Gama Records; Mat Sinner claims to this day that the album was not completely finished due to the contract with Noise Records , which has meanwhile been concluded, and has published demos. Danger Zone , the first album under Noise Records, was the band's first attempt to develop their personal style, which at the time had little to do with the melodic metal of the subsequent and final albums. After many line-up changes, the band stabilized with Herman Frank ( Accept ) as guitarist and recorded the album Touch of Sin in 1985 . This production is still considered a milestone in German heavy metal. Comin 'Out Fighting was recorded with the guitar team Angel Schleifer and Mathias Dieth . In 1987 the album Dangerous Charm was released, an album with more melodic sounds than the previous releases. After that, the band agreed to take a break. In the meantime, Mat Sinner released a solo album in 1990 called Back to the Bullet (BMG), which was arranged with a completely new band.

In 1992 the original line-up came back together and released the album No More Alibis . With the following albums Respect and Bottom Line , the band managed to stay in the Japanese charts for five weeks. With this musical reorientation, the popularity of the band continued to grow and, in addition to guest appearances in the opening act of Mr. Big and Savatage, also led to the start of their own Germany tour and the publication of a live album. The band was even more successful with the albums Judgment Day (1997) and The Nature of Evil (1998), after which they went on a European tour in the opening act for Deep Purple . The Nature of Evil was the band's most successful album to date and was number 63 in the German album charts.

In 1997 Mat Sinner founded the band Primal Fear with the former Gamma Ray singer Ralf Scheepers . Mat Sinner is described as the driving force behind the two band projects.

Development from 2000

In 2000 the band had their first line-up change in five years. Uli Kusch , former drummer for Helloween and Gamma Ray , and guitarist Henny Wolter produced the album The End of Sanctuary (# 87 in the Media Control Album Charts) with the band . In 2003 the metal-heavy album There Will Be Execution was released ; the band had released six albums in nine years. This was followed by a four-year break, during which Mat Sinner concentrated on working with Primal Fear.

Mat Sinner reformed Sinner in 2006 to record the Mask of Sanity album. The band toured with the line-up of Henny Wolter (guitar), Klaus Sperling (drums) and Christof Leim (guitar) and signed a new long-term record deal with AFM Records. In September 2008 the album Crash & Burn was released with the same line-up . This was followed by tours through Asia (Japan), South America and the USA.

Mat Sinner 2019

The album One Bullet Left was released on September 9, 2011 and entered the charts at position 65. Mat Sinner and Christof Leim received support from André Hilgers ( Rage ) on drums and the guitarists Alex Scholpp ( Tarja ) and Alex Beyrodt ( Primal Fear , Voodoo Circle ). In 2013, many Sinner classics were re-recorded in this line-up with Touch of Sin 2 , including three new songs and the music video Don't Believe a Word .

In 2016, Sinner of Rock Meets Classic and the Primal Fear World Tour planned to write a new Sinner CD and to revitalize the band. Guitarist Alex Scholpp stayed in the band and with guitarist Tom Naumann a great sense of humor rejoined the band. Mat produced the album himself again and went to the studios together with co-producer & partner Dennis Ward in autumn 2016 and recorded the new record Tequila Suicide - after an eventful night, christened by The Sweet's Pete Lincoln and Ricky Warwick, which on the title song are also responsible for the backing vocals. Gus G. played a guitar solo on the song Why and Mat's Rock Meets Classic Friends Sascha Krebs and Kolinda Brozovic sing other vocal parts on the album. There are music videos for the songs Tequila Suicide and Road to Hell . The single Tequila Suicide was released on February 24, 2017, the album on March 31, 2017 by long-term Sinner partner AFM Records and made the highest chart entry in SINNER history at number 49. After the band successfully toured in Japan, Australia and Germany in 2018 started the year 2019 with new recordings for the new album "Santa Muerte". Mat is again producing himself with his co-producer / engineer Dennis Ward. In addition to the guitarists Naumann & Scholpp, Markus Kullmann has been playing drums (Ex-Voodoo Circle) and the Italian Giorgia Colleluori (Rock Meets Classic) since 2018, sharing the lead vocals with Mat live and on the new album, which will be released on September 13, 2019 AFM Records is released.
