Mathias Dieth (* 1964 in Ulm ) is a German lawyer and former heavy metal guitarist who played in the bands Gravestone , Sinner and UDO .

biography

Mathias "Don" Dieth was born in Ulm in 1964. After graduating from high school and doing community service, he recorded his first two albums in 1984 and 1985 with the band Gravestone from Ulm.

In 1986 and 1987 he recorded the two albums Comin 'Out Fighting and Dangerous Charm with the band Sinner in Dieter Dierks ' studio . During a break in 1987 he switched to Udo Dirkschneider's band UDO , of which he was one of the founding members. With UDO he recorded a total of 4 albums until 1991 and - according to his own statements - was able to live from music for the first time. In 1988 he went on a US tour with Guns N 'Roses together with the band. In 1989 another with Ozzy Osbourne followed . While working in the band, he was a studio musician and played for various bands, including Accept . In 1991 he also took part in the projectAPE - All Planet Earth , however, ended his career as a musician because of the assumption that UDO had no future prospects with the emerging grunge wave. Udo Dirkschneider decided to put the band UDO on hold in favor of a re-union with Accept, with whom he recorded four albums by 1996.

After leaving UDO, he began studying law at the Universities of Cologne and Hohenheim . In 1996 he passed his first state law examination, in 1998 he received his doctorate and in 1999 he became a lawyer. Mathias Dieth has been a partner and lawyer in the commercial law firm "MRD Rechtsanwälte" (formerly: "Strunden und Partner") in Cologne since 2011 and focuses on the areas of media, culture, copyright and industrial property rights . In addition, since the winter semester 2006/2007 he has repeatedly worked as a freelance lecturer for media law at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.
