Christof Leim (born April 29, 1974 ) is a German guitarist and journalist . He plays in the bands The New Black and Heavysaurus , was a guitarist with Sinner and Motorjesus , and he also worked as editor-in-chief of Metal Hammer magazine .

Career

Leim started playing guitar at the age of 15. His main influences include Angus Young from AC / DC , Zakk Wylde , James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett from Metallica, and Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill from Skid Row . After playing in local bands for years, he joined the rock band The Traceelords in 2005 and played on their last album, The Ali of Rock . Shortly before their breakup, Leim switched to the band Sinner , with whom he had previously recorded the albums Mask of Sanity, Crash & Burn, One Bullet Left and Touch Of Sin 2 . In 2008 he was one of the founding members of The New Black, who have released four studio albums to date.

Since 1998 Christof Leim has been working as a music journalist, primarily for Metal Hammer magazine. At first he was a freelancer there , then from 2001 to 2005 a permanent editor . Leim then switched to Nuclear Blast and became editor-in-chief of the record company-published magazine Blast! . After a short time, however, he returned to Metal Hammer and was editor-in-chief from January 1, 2010 to the end of 2011. Leim also wrote and writes for the magazines guitar , Guitar Dreams, Rocks and Classic Rock as well as for Die Welt and BZ

Christof Leim works as a freelance journalist, music manager, event manager , social media manager, moderator and consultant for music & media.
