Tom Naumann

Tom Naumann (born August 3, 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a German photographer .

Life

Born the son of a Swabian baker, he studied philosophy and education . He later trained as a photographer and worked as an advertising photographer in the industrial and jewelry sectors as well as in fashion photography. In 1993 he began to turn away from commercial photography and exhibited works based on his own ideas and ideas for the first time in Eisenhüttenstadt . In the meantime he works as a freelance artist and lecturer , as well as headmaster (art division) at the music and art school Bruchsal.

Act

Naumann uses all common digital and analogue techniques and aids in photography and printing, mixes them consciously and provocatively or takes photos with self-made pinhole cameras. In addition, where others suspect pixel-perfect sharpness, he uses chemistry and technology from the early days of photography.

After publications in Vogue , Cosmopolitan , Playboy etc. he was invited to the Paris art exhibition MAC 2000, as the first photographer ever, in 2000 and has been there regularly with his pictures ever since.

His pictures mostly hang with private collectors, such as B. the Fratras collection in Paris.
