Inquiring Blood is a German metal band from Hanover , Lower Saxony . The band was founded in 2004 and has so far released an EP , a live album and two studio albums.
history
In 2002 the drummer Florian Otten and the guitarist Marco Gronwald got to know each other, who at that time were still playing in two different bands. It wasn't until the end of 2003 that they met for joint jam sessions .
In the spring of 2004, the two brought Daniel Siebert into the band, who at that time was still playing the bass and had taken over the vocals improvising . After a few rehearsals it became clear that he should take over the vocals completely. At this point, Fabian Ranft played the bass.
With this line-up, Inquiring Blood recorded their first demo Fear on their own as well as a first demo song Minefields in what was then Goldfisch-Studio Hannover. When they took part in the Simevil.com band contest from Rock Hard in 2005, the band took 8th place with the song Minefields and was included on the sampler as a supplement to Rock Hard issue No. 217.
At the end of 2005 Erik Hess (previously with Cripper ) took over bass. At this time the live CD Live at TTD Festival was created , which was produced by Harris Johns . From this point on, the EP Raping the Silence was also worked on and produced in 2006 by Herman Frank in Studio Arena 20 and published in 2007.
Erik Hess left the band in 2008 and was replaced by Lars Robrecht in early 2009. With this line-up, work began on the studio album Born in a Grave , which was recorded by Florentin Adolf and published in 2010.
In 2015 Inquiring Blood was signed by the music publisher Kernkraftritter-Records. While the label took over the distribution of Born In A Grave , the band was already working on its successor Morbid Creation . The album Morbid Creation was recorded in the winter of 2015 in the institute for sound research and then mixed and mastered in the coal cellar studio.
In the time between productions, Inquiring Blood played over 60 live performances in clubs or at festivals. The highlights included support appearances for Kataklysm , Behemoth and Aborted (2007), The Haunted (2011), Aborted & Heretic Soul (2013), Eisregen (2014), Debauchery (2015 & 2016), as well as Destruction and Nervosa (2017).
style
The quartet plays a mixture of Florida Death Metal , Groove Metal and Death'N'Roll and is often compared in reviews to Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under .
