Predator is the eleventh studio album by the German heavy metal band Accept . It was released on January 15, 1996 on RCA Records .
Origin and style
The album was recorded with Michael Wagener in Nashville , Tennessee . Since Stefan Kaufmann could no longer work for the band due to a back problem, guest drummer Michael Cartellone ( Damn Yankees ) took over the drums on the album. During the recording, the mood in the band was already bad, so the separation was in sight. Bassist Peter Baltes sang three songs , which Udo Dirkschneider didn't like.
reception
Predator in Germany reached place 56. Jason Anderson of Allmusic .com missed two out of five stars. The album sounds uninspired and is superfluous. “There's no momentum and no magic on Predator, a lifeless and unfortunate offering from one of metal's finest outfits.” Alex Straka from Powermetal.de noticed on the album “Licht und Schatten” that “horny hammers” were faced with “ dead ends ”: “Everyone has their own opinion. Personally, I think that Accept took an inglorious goodbye with a very mixed record. "
