Messiah's Kiss is a heavy metal / heavy rock band whose members hail from Dinslaken , New York , and Nottingham .

Emergence

The band was founded in 2001, and essentially emerged from the heavy metal formation Repression  from Dinslaken ( North Rhine- Westphalia / Niederrhein ), which had already released four productions through its own distribution. The band's activities stagnated, as they were based on classic heavy metal of the 1980s, which was no longer style-defining from the mid-1990s. From 2000, the interest, especially in Germany, increased again in classic heavy metal, which now traded under the name True Metal . Georg Kraft then began to write new song material.

After 13 songs had been completed and pre-produced, Kraft and Ostra wanted to face the international competition with this material and give expression to the new songs with a professional singer. Ostra found the right singer in Mike Tirelli, who at the time was active in the USA with his band Holy Mother . The contact was made by Mike's former producer, Detlef Mohrmann from Bochum . Tirelli was immediately enthusiastic about the material and so the studio was booked in March 2001, where he sang the songs for the first album Prayer for the dying . After completion and presentation, a contract with SPV / Steamhammer resulted . A few weeks later the band was renamed from Repression to Messiah's Kiss .

stage

The first joint live show of Messiah's Kiss was the opening show at the True Metal Stage of the Wacken Open Air in 2002. From October 2002 accompanied Messiah's Kiss as "Special Guests" Fight Tour of Doro , which led throughout Europe.

Wayne Banks joined the band in October 2002 for Andreas Roschak and became the new bass player, who made his live debut for the band on October 31, 2002 at the “Z7” club in Pratteln , Switzerland . The second album Metal was released in 2004 and, like the debut album, was based on straightforward heavy metal. The album was produced by Nikolo Kotzev ( Brazen Abbot ).

Jason Banks joined the band in 2007 as the new guitarist, replacing Alexander Hitz. Also in 2007 Messiah's Kiss released their third output Dragonheart , which with the band's typical double bass rhythms and distinctive guitar riffs received very good international reviews, and was produced by Herman Frank ( Accept , Victory ), who also made the debut Prayer for the dying was sitting behind the controls.

In July 2007 the band played at the first Magic Circle Festival . Blood, sweat and tears and Babylon were released on the "Magic Circle Festival Volume I DVD". Shortly after the DVD was released, there was a forced break due to fate: Georg Kraft suffered a stroke and Mike Tirelli was diagnosed with stomach cancer. The band stuck together during this difficult time due to the close friendships with each other.

After the compulsory break

After the band reunited and started to “jam” to collect ideas for a new album under their new creative concept “no fixed rules” , everyone had the individual freedom to bring their own style, roots and influences. This combination resulted in a new, fresher style in terms of songs and sound, so that in 2014 the fourth album with the title Get Your Bulls Out! pending. The album title was inspired by the legend of Reventón - the bull who powerfully opposed his toreros and repeatedly fought his way back to victory.
