Loyal to None is the first solo album by guitarist Herman Frank , who was previously with Victory and is currently working for Accept . The album was released on February 27, 2009 on Metal Heaven (distributed by Soulfood ).
Emergence
After more than 30 years as a guitarist in various bands, as a music producer, band coach and as an editor of guitar teaching videos and DVDs, Herman Frank decided to release a solo album. After he presented his first ideas to singer Jiotis Parachidis (ex- Human Fortress , Victory), the latter agreed to sing on them. The two made their first demo recordings and Frank recruited drummer Stefan Schwarzmann ( Krokus ) and bassist Peter Pichl (ex- Running Wild ), who are old companions of his.
The album was composed by Herman Frank on his own and recorded in his own studio, the Arena 20 Studios in Hanover .
Music genre
The music style of Loyal to None is melodic Power Metal , which draws much of its influences from the 1980s. The music is very guitar-centered and contains typical elements of similar albums by solo guitarists: fast guitar playing, tremolo, and frequent variations. The music is usually kept very fast and only a few times gives way to more mid-tempo-oriented pieces or songs with a more hymnal character. However, in the reviews it was found that Frank's solos, unlike other guitarist albums, are primarily useful for the song and are not an end in themselves.
