The Definitive Collection is a best-of compilation by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus .
background
After Ariola and her subsidiary Arista had already published two best-of compilations after the termination of the contract with Krokus with Stayed Awake All Night: The Best Of for the American market and The Dirty Dozen: The Very Best of 1979–1983 for Europe , Arista published The Definitive Collection, the third compilation of this format. In contrast to the previously published compilations, the best-of-album published in America covers all of the studio albums published via Arista and Ariola from 1980 to 1986 - from Metal Rendez-Vous to Change of Address . In America, The Definitive Collection is seen as the better alternative to Stayed Awake All Night: The Best Of , on the one hand because it simply contains more songs and on the other hand because the songs recorded between the early and mid-80s have been digitally remastered and thus improved in sound were.
