Change of Address is the ninth studio album by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus . It contains the singles "Burning up the Night", "Let This Love Begin", "Say Goodbye" and " School's Out ".
background
With the addition of the line-up by bassist Tommy Keizer, who joined the band already during the last US tour as a replacement for Andy Tanas was Crocus completely again for the recordings of the new album. Mark Kohler, who had to play the bass tracks on The Blitz due to a lack of alternatives, was able to switch back to rhythm guitar. Not really bad omens, but musically the band took a direction that offended the die-hard Krokus fans in particular: Instead of straightforward, riff-heavy Hard Rock, they got shallower, more melodic, keyboard-heavy Pop Metal. The fact that the glam metal movement was budding in the USA at this time and the record company wanted to see Krokus that way is an explanation for this. That Tom Werman was a proven and very successful Glam Metal producer at the time is a second. But with this album, Krokus were simply no longer what made them successful and for which they were valued and honored by fans and the press alike. Nevertheless, the Change of Address, recorded in the Artisan Sound Recorder in Los Angeles , was able to use the singles "Burning up the Night", "Let This Love Begin", "Say Goodbye" and the Alice Cooper cover " School's Out " as well as the Music videos for "Burning up the Night" and "School's Out" again achieved considerable success: The album reached number 77 in the Canadian charts, number 46 in Sweden, number 45 in the American Billboard charts and - like The Blitz before - number 6 in the Swiss album charts. In addition, the single "School's Out" was and is the highest chart position of the band in the American single charts at number 67. Krokus was also asked live what u. a. An appearance shortly after the album was released as Van Halen's special guest in front of 80,000 visitors at the Texxas Jam Festival in Dallas proved. Nonetheless, this album, which ironically had the longest production time in the band's history because of pressure from the record company for a quick successor, was a real low point for Krokus. The results from this album, which was also unsatisfactory for the band, were after the Release of the first live album Alive and Screamin ' , a change of record company, the return of bassist and songwriter Chris von Rohr - Tommy Keizer had to give way again - and another change on the drums position: Swiss Dani Crivelli was brought on board for Jeff Klaven . These reactions should bring Krokus back on track with the successor Heart Attack . A special feature of the Change of Address recordings is the significantly incorrectly printed track lists on the back of the LP sleeves.
