Dirty Dynamite is the seventeenth studio album by the Swiss hard rock band Krokus . It contains the singles "Dirty Dynamite", "Go Baby Go" and "Dög Song".

background

With the announcement of the revival of the original formation in 2008, the already extremely successful decade for Krokus - despite the never-ending line-up changes - was further refined. The first resulting studio album, Hoodoo , received almost exclusively positive reviews from both the music press and fans, and the name Krokus was more in demand internationally than ever. After promoting Hoodoo mainly through festival appearances, the band wanted to build on this and so the famous Abbey Road Studios in London were booked and occupied for the majority of the recordings for the recordings of the successor Dirty Dynamite , again led by producer Chris von Rohr . But before this happened, a component of the original formation had to be recorded: Drummer Freddy Steady left the band in 2011 - not because of personal differences with his fellow musicians, but because he would have preferred to play in small clubs for fun instead of having a professional paint job again to return to the great stages of the world. Subsequently, the drums were initially no longer given to a full band member, but with Mandy Meyer , who was already in the band in 1981 and from 2005 to 2008, a third guitarist was firmly integrated into the line-up. In the line-up of Marc Storace , Fernando von Arb, Mandy Meyer, Mark Kohler and Chris von Rohr as well as the Greek guest drummer Kosta Zafiriou, Dirty Dynamite was finally completed and published in early 2013. As with Hoodoo , music experts and fans were equally enthusiastic this time. Logically, the album, which sounds much more bluesy than its predecessor, climbed to number 1 in the Swiss album charts just a week after its release and also to number 46 in Austria, number 41 in Sweden, number 29 in Greece and number 17 in the German album charts. In addition, it reached number 22 on the US Hard Rock Charts and within a few weeks was platinum in Switzerland. In addition to the album, which also contains a rearranged version of the Beatles classic “ Help ”, the single “Dirty Dynamite”, which was released in Europe and for which a video was made, also made it to number 32 on the Swiss single charts. In Canada and the USA, the selection of the single, "Go Baby Go", fell remarkably on another song on the album. In the course of the first concerts after the album was released - the The Close Contact Dög Tour in May 2013, consisting of a total of five appearances - Krokus finally introduced their new permanent drummer, the Swiss Flavio Mezzodi , also from Solothurn . For the near future, individual festival appearances, including a. planned for the Sweden Rock in Sölvesborg , the Hellfest in Clisson and the Rock of Ages in Rottenburg am Neckar . During the festival appearances, the band released the single "Dög Song", for which another video clip was produced. It is noteworthy that the video shoot was preceded by a casting in which a bulldog was selected to play the lead role in this music video.
