Randolph Charles Bachman, OC , OM (born September 27, 1943 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian rock musician (guitarist and singer), best known as a member of the bands The Guess Who , Ironhorse and Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) . His son Tal Bachman is also a musician.

In 2000, Bachman, along with his colleagues from BTO, made a guest appearance on the TV comic series The Simpsons . The author of the series Matt Groening , whose father is also from Winnipeg, is an avowed BTO fan.

In 2005, Bachman was awarded the Order of Manitoba, the highest order in the province of Manitoba. In the same year he was charged as a strike breaker while continuing to work on his radio show during a strike. In 2012, Bachman was honored as a solo musician with one star on the Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto - an honor he received as a member of The Guess Who back in 2001.

Randy Bachman continues to tour with his bands Randy Bachman's Rock Thing and Bachman & Cummings . He also has a popular theater show called Every Song Tells A Story, in which he tells stories about his hit songs from the 1960s and 1970s, which he performs live with his band. Bachman is also active as a songwriter and promoter of young talents.
