Tal Bachman

Talmage "Tal" Bachman (born August 13, 1968 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian musician . He is the son of Canadian rock musician Randy Bachman .

Life

Tal Bachman's breakthrough came after he signed a deal with Columbia Records. He got the contract at the request of EMI Music Publishing , who were listening to a Tal Bachman demo tape. Together with Bob Rock , a producer with Aerosmith and Metallica , he produced the single She's So High , which reached number 14 in the American charts. His first album "Tal Bachman" was released in 1999.

He released his second album "Staring Down The Sun" in 2004. The single for the album "Airplane" made it to number 20 in the Canadian charts. The song "Airplane" was also featured in the soundtrack for the teen film American Pie: The next generation .

Bachman grew up as a Mormon and was also a missionary in Argentina for two years . In 2003, however, he had doubts about the church founder and left the Mormons. Since then he has been helping other people to start over after leaving the tightly organized religious community.

Bachman is also a qualified political scientist, and as such he also makes political contributions to Canadian television and the newspaper The National Post .

In 2007, Bachman was interviewed for the documentary The Mormons .
