Fernando Tarrida del Mármol
Fernando Tarrida del Mármol (born August 2, 1861 in Havana , † 1915 in London ) was a Cuban anarchist author.
He was born into a wealthy family of Catalan emigrants and was the nephew of the Cuban general Donato Mármol. He studied engineering in Barcelona , Toulouse and Madrid and became professor and director of the polytechnic school in Barcelona. There Tarrida del Mármol wrote articles in the magazines Acracia , La Revista Blanca and El Productor , collaborating with Teresa Claramunt , Federico Urales and Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia . Because of the Montjuïc trials in 1896, Tarrida del Mármol sought and found asylum in France, Belgium and finally in London, where he continued to uphold the anarchist ideals and died in 1915.
