Pink Cream 69 is a German rock band from Karlsruhe that was founded in 1987.
history
Pink Cream 69 was founded in 1987 by Andi Deris, Alfred Koffler and Kosta Zafiriou. Dennis Ward joined them a short time later. In 1988 the band won the metal hammer competition for young talents at the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg and then received a record deal with CBS Records . Numerous tours increased the popularity of the four and made them a sought-after export in Central Europe and Japan .
In 1994 Andi Deris left the "Pinkies" to sing with Helloween . He was replaced by the British David Readman . In 2003 the band was expanded to five musicians when Uwe Reitauer joined them to relieve Alfred Koffler, who was restricted by focal dystonia , the so-called “musician's disease”.
From 2006 Dennis Ward and Chris Schmidt supported the former Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner with his "Sunstorm" project.
In March 2012, drummer and founding member Kosta Zafiriou left the band to focus on working at his own promotion agency and his new band Unisonic , which also includes Dennis Ward. His drum technician Chris Schmidt took over his position.
In January 2013 the studio album Ceremonial was released after a lengthy creative break .
In November 2017 the album Headstrong was released after a 4-year break .
At the end of 2019 it was announced that bassist and founding member Dennis Ward had left the band after more than 30 years.
At the beginning of 2020 the long-time guitarist Uwe Reitauer announced his departure from the band, shortly afterwards Marco Wriedt (ex- Axxis ) and bassist Roman Beselt (Sons of Sounds) were presented as new band members.
