Ovil is a locality and former municipality in northern Portugal .

Ovil was the seat of the homonymous municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Baião district in the Porto district . The community covered an area of ​​16.7 km² and had 702 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal in 2013, the municipality of Ovil was merged with the municipality of Campelo to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Campelo e Ovil .
