Owen Reece (born August 18, 1960 in Kingston , Jamaica ) is a retired Jamaican boxer. From 1988 to 1992 he was a professional boxer in the Universum boxing stable . Since 2004 Reece worked as a trainer for the former Universum boxing promotion.
Career
Owen Reece began his professional career with a fight against Mehmet Zolic on September 4, 1988, which he won by a knockout in round 3. Reece also won the following 12 fights, 9 of them by knockout, so that he fought on May 27, 1992 in Cologne against Niyazi Aytekin for the international German middleweight title.
Reece lost the fight with a point decision after 10 rounds and ended his career in the following period due to a serious eye injury.
