Oxana Jad

Oxana Jad (* 1979 in Moscow ) is a Russian art photographer . She lives and works in the USA, Germany and Spain. In her work she dedicates herself to psychological portraits and the picturesque landscape.

life and work

Oxana Jad studied sculpture & spatial concepts, multimedia and photography at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . Then she studied photography and intermedia at the Leipzig University of Art and Graphics . She was a master student of Professor Eberhardt Bosslet at the Dresden University of Fine Arts.

The focus of Oxana Jad's work is the development of artistic, intermedia work complexes that deal with the subject of body-image-identity. She is particularly interested in the human psyche in relation to philosophical, religious and mythological aspects; the body and its social codes in the ethnic, historical and art-historical context; interpersonal actions; and the imagination of the human body as scientific research and discovery progress.

Exhibitions and prizes

Oxana Jad's works have already been made available to a wide audience in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In 2006 and 2011 she took part in the Biennale of Contemporary Art in St. Petersburg (Russia). Her photographic works have been exhibited in galleries in Europe and the USA and are also in public and private collections, such as in the Karlsruhe regional council and in the Angerlehner collection in Austria. Oxana Jad has also received several prizes and awards for her work. Among other things, she received the Saxony Art Prize for Photography in 2009.
