Pándy reaction

The Pándy reaction is a non-specific test named after the Budapest psychiatrist and neurologist Kálmán P. Pándy (1868–1944) for the detection of globulins in the nerve water . A few drops of nerve water are added to one milliliter of Pándy reagent (water-saturated phenol ). The test is positive if there is significant cloudiness or precipitation .
