Paul Kazmi William Vinsome , mostly cited as PKW Vinsome, is a British physicist.

Vinsome received his PhD in 1971 from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (The valence charge density and dielectric function in covalent semiconductors). He then worked for the oil company Shell , where in 1976 he developed an iterative method for solving large systems of linear equations, Orthomin, as a further development of the conjugate gradient method for non-symmetrical matrices.

In the 1980s he was Chief Officer Research and Development at the Computer Modeling Group in Calgary .
