P45

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The PAYE form P45 (Title: Details of employee leaving work ) of the British and Irish tax law is one of the former German Lohnsteuerkarte comparable certificate of the salary paid and the remitted payroll taxes and social security contributions .

A copy of the P45 is handed over to the employee by the employer when he leaves the employment relationship and must be presented to the new employer when taking up a new job. Since the handover of the certificate is associated with the end of an employment relationship, “got the P45 ” in the UK and Ireland colloquially means “received a notice of termination”.
