The Castillo de Castellar is a castle or fort near Castellar de la Frontera north of Algeciras in Andalusia, Spain . It contains a core, the so-called "Old Fort" ("Castellar viejo"). The origin of the fort can be traced back to the 7th century. The castle was used before the year 800 by the Moors who conquered the Iberian Peninsula via Gibraltar.

The fort is located in the mountains of the natural park Parque Natural de Los Alcornocales . At the entrance of the fort there is information and a. over the park.

Since the 1960s, the fort has been a place of retreat for young people with artistic knowledge. a. Musicians and painters etc. who discovered the fort for themselves at a time when it was abandoned and there wasn't even water there.

In 2005 the fort was converted into a hotel complex by the Tugasa Group, which also operates the hotel in Medina Sidonia .
