PAS 2050
PAS 2050 , Specification for the assessment of the life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of goods and services, with its main variants PAS 2050: 2008 and PAS 2050: 2011 is a standard for determining the CO 2 balance of a product or an individual service.
The aim of PAS 2050 is to create a simple and comparable standard in order to make the CO 2 footprint of different products and services comparable. PAS was created on the initiative of the Carbon Trust and the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs .
The standard was originally on 29 October 2008 by the British Standards Institution as first defined standard for the CO 2 released footprint of a product. It has now spread around the world; numerous other standards, derivations and refinements emerged from PAS 2050.
A revision took place in 2011 that led to the new PAS 2050: 2011.
