Maurizio Malvestiti (born August 25, 1953 in Marne ) is an Italian clergyman and bishop of Lodi .

Life

Maurizio Malvestiti was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Bergamo on June 11, 1977 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 19, 2009 as Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches .

On August 26, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Lodi . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches, Leonardo Sandri , donated him episcopal ordination on October 11 of the same year in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Bergamo, Francesco Beschi , and his predecessor Giuseppe Merisi . The inauguration in the diocese of Lodi followed on October 26, 2014.
