Historic payer razors

In 1946 Eduard Payer founded a company for the manufacture of men's razors in Sankt Bartholomä near Graz . After Eduard Payer's death in 1976, the company was taken over by his daughter Ruth and his son-in-law, Horst Stross.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain , relations with Hungarian companies were established and a joint venture was established in Ajka, Hungary in 1992 . In addition, Philips became a minority owner in the 1990s. In 1996, in addition to the original electric razors for men, the first ladyshaver was produced, which led to the company developing from a pure razor manufacturer to a producer of personal care products .

The Philips Group acquired in 2001 all shares of the Payer Group. The following year, the Malaysian HUI Holding took over the Payer Group.

In addition to the takeover of the joint venture in Ajka (1997), two further locations were founded in China (2003 and 2005), a medical technology and competence center was established in Austria and another sub-company, Payer Medical GmbH (2014), was founded and a location in Kecskemét, Hungary, (2017) taken over.
