PHProjekt is a free groupware written in PHP that was written by Albrecht Günther at the end of the 1990s . Since the beginning of 2006 PHProjekt has been further developed and supported by the Mayflower company together with Günther. Mayflower GmbH has now stopped developing PHProjekt. The source code remains open source and can be downloaded from Github.

It is possible to expand the capability using various add-on packages and additional software (e.g. a comparison with MS Outlook is possible). PHProjekt is available in several languages.

On March 19, 2010, PHProjekt 6 was presented, which focuses on project management and integrates the functions already successfully used in so-called Web 2.0 applications such as live search or tagging . The developers report on the progress of the project in a blog specially set up for this purpose.

Since it is based on PHP, PHProjekt is largely platform-independent and z. B. available for Windows, Linux, Unix, Solaris, OS / 2 and MacOS. It can be used on many web servers (e.g. Apache, IIS, etc.).
